Li Chi, founder of Tongwei Investment Management Co., Ltd., recently issued a public apology on social media, admitting that between 2023 and 2025 he repeatedly posted over 20 false and defamatory statements targeting Dongchedi (an automotive content platform). He acknowledged that, without factual basis, he wrongly accused Dongchedi of fabricating content and smearing automotive brands in its advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) educational programs, and criticized the platform’s content as unfair and biased. Li admitted these remarks were overly aggressive, inconsistent with objective facts, and purely subjective. During July and August 2025, while Dongchedi collaborated with CCTV News on a large-scale evaluation of intelligent driving technologies, Li continued posting multiple comments accusing Dongchedi of “fabrication” and “deliberately misleading the public.” Additionally, Li had previously disparaged Xiaomi at events such as the “Sai You Hui” (Racing Enthusiasts’ Gathering), and made controversial remarks like “sleeping while driving” and “using mobile phones while driving,” which sparked public backlash. Shenzhen Tongwei Investment Management Co., Ltd., established in 2008, is a registered private fund manager with the Asset Management Association of China (AMAC). The firm primarily engages in financial asset investment management using a long-biased equity strategy in secondary markets, offering services through collective trust funds and dedicated account management.
