On July 17, at the World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Jushi Intelligence announced it has achieved mass production of its mapless Level 4 (L4) autonomous driving solution, becoming the world’s first company to commercialize this technology at scale. Currently, the solution has reached a 30% adoption rate across its newly added operational routes, and the company expects its cumulative L4 mapless operational mileage to exceed 40,000 kilometers by the end of this month. Founded in 2021 and headquartered in Suzhou, Jiangsu Province, Jushi Intelligence completed a deep strategic integration with Cainiao’s autonomous vehicle division in January 2026, with Cainiao becoming a shareholder of the company. The newly mass-produced mapless solution marks a significant milestone: L4 autonomous driving no longer relies on high-definition maps, instead performing end-to-end operations—including perception, localization, decision-making, and control—through real-time sensing and AI-driven decision systems. Compared to mapless Level 2 (L2) driver-assistance systems, which still require human drivers to assume responsibility for vehicle operation, the technological barrier for a mapless L4 solution is significantly higher. Zhu Weicheng, Co-founder and Chief Information Officer (CIO) of Jushi Intelligence, stated that the company has upgraded its previous light-mapping approach to a next-generation mapless L4 solution. This advancement not only substantially reduces costs but also shortens vehicle deployment time to under one day, enabling “buy-and-go” and “deliver-and-operate” capabilities.
