The 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) has announced the results of its selection for embodied intelligence showcase scenarios. A collaborative embodied intelligence-driven system for assembling new energy vehicle motors, jointly developed by JAKA Robotics and Huayu Automotive Electric Systems Co., Ltd., has been successfully selected and is now on display in the "Modern Era · City of Partners" robotics exhibition zone at the Expo venue. Based on Huayu Electric’s high-volume motor production line—capable of manufacturing millions of units annually—the system has undergone extensive real-world refinement and represents China’s first industrial application of wheeled humanoid robots achieving fully closed-loop operations across the entire workflow. This solution leverages fully in-house developed technology, featuring a multi-agent collaborative architecture with dual wheeled-humanoid robots and 100% domestically controlled hardware and software. The system integrates a self-developed wheeled mobile base, lifting column, and humanoid dual-arm body, equipped with multimodal perception modules including 3D vision, LiDAR, and multi-axis force sensors. Combined with a YOLO-based visual segmentation model and an AI Agent intelligent decision-making framework, it establishes an integrated Vision-Language-Action (VLA) embodied intelligence architecture that unifies “brain-level perception and decision-making” with “cerebellum-level motion control.” Without requiring point-to-point teaching, the system adapts seamlessly to mixed-model production lines, achieving a 99% component recognition accuracy rate and enabling a fully autonomous closed-loop process from perception to decision-making and motion execution. The on-site demonstration features a dual-robot collaborative production line covering the entire workflow—from transporting new energy motor housings and material handover, through component assembly, to high-precision screw fastening of fine 0.5mm threads and final product warehousing—all without human intervention. Each precision screw fastening operation takes only 10 seconds, significantly improving assembly consistency and yield rates while shifting human workers toward higher-value roles such as process tuning and quality control, exemplifying a new paradigm of human-robot collaboration. Unlike most lab-based conceptual prototypes, this system has already proven its scalability and delivery capability in actual mass-production environments. Aligned with WAIC’s theme of “beyond conceptual demonstrations and spanning diverse real-world scenarios,” it showcases the successful implementation of domestic embodied intelligence in advanced manufacturing and offers a replicable model for the global industrialization of humanoid robots.
