On July 17, 2026, the World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and the High-Level Meeting on Global Governance of Artificial Intelligence opened in Shanghai. Co-hosted by ten ministries and commissions—including the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology—together with the Shanghai Municipal People’s Government, this year’s conference carries the theme “Intelligent Partners, Co-Creating the Future” and has attracted over 1,100 AI companies from around the globe. At Booth H1-A605, WeiYi Intelligent Manufacturing showcased its Embodied Industrial Intelligence Robot (EIIR) series. Built upon the company’s self-developed industrial Vision-Language-Action (VLA) model, embodied data flywheel, vertical-domain expert models, and specialized hardware, this series has already been deployed in multiple world-leading factories. The centerpiece of the booth was the world premiere of the “Embodied Quality Inspection | Multi-Arm Collaborative Robot.” Equipped with autonomous perception and decision-making capabilities, this system can identify surface defects on components and, using dual robotic arms, perform high-speed, precise image capture and inspection at speeds up to 1,000 mm/s. Its workflow spans perception, decision-making, and execution, seamlessly integrating with downstream correction and polishing processes. The system is already operational on production lines of top-tier automotive manufacturers in China, the United States, and Germany. Another featured exhibit, the “Embodied Operation | Intelligent Assembly Robot,” invited on-site visitors to interact with it through a block-building demonstration. Using an embodied vision module, the robot observes human actions and leverages multimodal large models combined with motion control algorithms to understand tasks and plan trajectories, enabling autonomous imitation and execution. This capability can be replicated in the cloud and rapidly deployed to mass-production equipment, significantly reducing factory line-switching time. Additionally, a “Basketball Goalkeeper” robot made its debut at the event. Integrating its sensing unit directly into the end-effector of the robotic arm—achieving true “hand-eye coordination”—the system can predict ball trajectories in real time and execute millisecond-level responsive grasping without external visual assistance, drawing long queues of eager participants.
