GAC Aion Upgrades Warranty for Select AION S Models with CALB 177Ah LFP Batteries

GAC Aion has announced an upgrade to its battery warranty service for certain AION S models equipped with CALB’s 177Ah lithium iron phosphate (LFP) battery packs. This enhanced warranty applies specifically to vehicles primarily used for commercial operations and with mileage exceeding 150,000 kilometers. According to the announcement, the upgraded measures include three key provisions: 1. Extending the battery warranty period from the original 8 years or 150,000 km to 8 years or 300,000 km (whichever comes first); 2. Enhancing remote monitoring via battery big data analytics—once the system detects anomalies, it will proactively contact the vehicle owner and arrange a free inspection at any authorized GAC Aion service center nationwide, followed by either free repair or full battery pack replacement as needed; 3. Providing operational compensation in accordance with national regulations to owners whose vehicles are out of service for more than five days due to battery repair or replacement. This warranty enhancement is defined by battery model and usage scenario, without restrictions based on specific production batches or dates, thereby covering a large number of early-delivered AION S commercial variants. The upgraded service is now being implemented nationwide. Owners can obtain guidance on how to access these services through the official GAC Aion app, the customer service hotline (400-188-3333), or their nearest dealership. The policy takes effect immediately upon announcement and has no retroactive time limit. Owners who have already experienced battery-related issues but have not yet sought resolution are advised to promptly contact official channels to schedule an inspection, to avoid impacting future vehicle use or eligibility for compensation.
