SAIC Launches Robotaxi Mass-Production Project, Set for 2027 Debut

At the high-level forum on "Intelligent Driving Innovation and Development" themed "Data-Intelligence Driven, Accelerating Smart Mobility" during the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, Shanghai-based mobility service provider EnjoyGo announced the launch of its SAIC Motor Robotaxi mass-production customized vehicle project. The initiative is jointly driven by EnjoyGo, SAIC Motor, and a leading intelligent driving technology company. Under this collaboration, SAIC Motor will handle vehicle manufacturing, the intelligent driving partner will supply the autonomous driving system, and EnjoyGo will lead product definition and oversee operational deployment. The vehicle is scheduled to debut in 2027, becoming Shanghai’s first pre-installed, mass-produced, high-level autonomous driving customized car—and notably, the first such pre-installed Robotaxi model launched by an automaker with annual sales reaching the billion-unit scale. The project’s entry into its substantive phase was jointly announced by Ni Licheng, CEO of EnjoyGo; Xie Jiayue, Deputy Dean of SAIC Motor R&D General Institute; and Guo Hui, Deputy CTO and Chief Scientist of Intelligent Driving at IM Motors.
