Xiaomi Auto recently released its road testing data: over a period of 626 days, the company deployed 566 test vehicles, accumulating a total mileage of 4.28 million kilometers. The testing was conducted in two types of scenarios: one at professional automotive test tracks—including harsh conditions such as durability roads, salt spray and mud roads, and high-speed oval circuits—and the other on public roads, focusing on extreme "three-high" environments: high temperature, extreme cold, and high altitude. The tests evaluated various aspects including vehicle NVH (noise, vibration, and harshness) performance, interior material durability, overall body structural strength, and suspension system reliability. Amid intensifying price competition in the automotive industry and shrinking vehicle profit margins—now down to just 1.5%—some suppliers have halted deliveries due to cost pressures. In response, China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT) has revised relevant access requirements, incorporating road testing into regulatory oversight to enhance vehicle quality. Several automakers have also begun disclosing more details about their internal testing procedures to bolster consumer confidence in product quality.
