On July 19, Harmony Intelligent Mobility responded to online skepticism sparked by its live-streamed real-world range test of the Aito M9 EV conducted on July 14. The test used an Aito M9 Ultra five-seater all-wheel-drive pure electric version (CLTC-rated range: 715 km) to complete a round-trip journey from Chongqing to Chengdu without recharging. The total driving time was 7 hours and 36 minutes, covering an actual distance of 630.6 km, achieving a range efficiency of 88.1% and an energy consumption of 17.8 kWh per 100 km. On the day of the test, ambient temperatures reached as high as 41°C. The vehicle carried four adults and approximately 50 kg of filming equipment, with the cabin air conditioning set to a constant 24°C throughout the trip. In response to doubts about whether the broadcast was pre-recorded, the company clarified that the entire test was streamed live in real time, with no editing or pre-recording. Data—including distance traveled, remaining battery level, and outside temperature—was updated every 30 minutes, while the host simultaneously displayed real-time energy consumption, driving duration, and engaged in live interaction with viewers. Regarding questions about the average speed of only 85 km/h, the company explained that the route included both urban roads and highways—not exclusively highway driving. On highway segments alone, the actual average speed was 101.89 km/h, and the overall average speed reflected typical daily driving conditions for real-world users. In response to speculation that the test vehicle might have been specially tuned, the company firmly stated that the car used was a standard production model with no special modifications, and it welcomed independent third-party evaluations as well as customer test drives at dealerships. Additionally, the Aito M9 Pure Electric Ultra and Ultimate trims are now priced the same as their extended-range counterparts.
