The updated Aito M8 has been listed in the 409th batch of new vehicle announcements by China’s Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT). It will be available in three variants: range-extended models with lithium iron phosphate (LFP) and ternary lithium batteries, respectively, and a pure electric version. All three variants share identical dimensions—5,190 mm long, 1,999 mm wide, and 1,795 mm tall—with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. Both five-seat and six-seat configurations are offered, and all versions have a top speed of 200 km/h. The two range-extended variants feature identical powertrain specifications despite their different battery chemistries. Under WLTC conditions, their fuel consumption rates are 0.18 L/100 km and 0.22 L/100 km, respectively. The pure electric variant has a curb weight of either 2,745 kg or 2,820 kg and a gross vehicle weight of 3,270 kg. It is equipped with dual motors—one on each axle. The front motor delivers a rated power of 62 kW and a peak output of 160 kW, while the rear motor offers a rated power of 73 kW and a peak output of 227 kW, resulting in a combined system peak power of 387 kW. All three variants support external charging and offer optional features including different wheel designs, side running boards, and an ETC onboard unit. They also come standard with an Event Data Recorder (EDR), and the ABS control module is supplied by Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
