Tesla FSD to Upgrade into Personalized Driving System That Learns Your Parking Habits

Tesla is transitioning its Full Self-Driving (FSD) software from a generalized driving system to a personalized one. Tesla CEO Elon Musk confirmed that the new system will record user interventions during operation and adjust its driving strategy accordingly to match individual driving preferences. This capability will span multiple common driving scenarios, including parking: the system will observe how users operate their vehicles, learn their parking patterns, and select the driving model that best aligns with their habits. Currently, Tesla vehicles already support HOV (High-Occupancy Vehicle) lane preference settings, which users can adjust via "Controls > Navigation > Use HOV Lanes" or toggle using voice commands. Recently, this setting has been simplified to three options—"Auto," "Yes," and "No"—to better accommodate varying user needs. Additionally, Tesla has introduced a new FSD takeover feedback menu, allowing users to specify the reason for taking control of the vehicle. This data will help identify issues requiring priority optimization. Parking is currently one of the most common reasons users disengage FSD, so the new features are expected to first enhance the parking experience. The next major consumer release, FSD v15, is anticipated to launch later this year or early next year. It will feature a roughly 10-fold increase in model parameters, significantly boosting autonomous driving capabilities.
