The smart #2, a fully electric two-seater model, has commenced global testing and is scheduled to make its public debut at the Paris Motor Show this October. Built on smart’s 100% in-house developed ECA architecture, the vehicle features a minimum turning diameter of 6.95 meters. Testing includes replicating real-world urban driving conditions to precisely calibrate the chassis, steering, and suspension systems—enhancing stability and handling agility in city environments while optimizing overall structural rigidity. The new model is equipped with a 35.7 kWh battery, delivering a CLTC-rated range of nearly 400 kilometers on a single charge, and supports DC fast charging from 10% to 80% in approximately 20 minutes. Previously, the concept version’s exterior design and select specifications were unveiled in June this year.
