Huawei Unveils Qiankun Smart Headlights and XHUD Tech to Enhance Night and Low-Visibility Driving Safety

On July 20, Huawei Qiankun Intelligent Automotive Solution responded to inquiries regarding its in-vehicle optical technologies. Its megapixel-resolution intelligent headlight, built upon the HUAWEI PIXEL technology platform, features adaptive high-beam zoning with precise automatic masking of oncoming vehicles or pedestrians, achieving a high-beam utilization rate exceeding 90%. The system leverages proprietary algorithms that work in tandem with the advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) to detect and track targets in real time, ensuring stable and accurate masking without drift. Additionally, the headlight supports forward collision warning lighting, enhanced illumination in rain and fog, and extends into interactive applications such as projection-based welcome greetings and in-car motion-sensing games. Also introduced at the same time was the HUAWEI XHUD, the industry’s first AR-HUD product to achieve dual focal-plane imaging using a single LCoS optical engine. Equipped with Huawei’s self-developed automotive-grade LCoS micro-projection technology, it delivers high resolution, wide color gamut, high brightness, and high contrast. The system enhances safety warnings under low-visibility conditions—such as nighttime driving or rain and fog—and intuitively displays AR navigation, ADAS intent indicators, and safety alerts, offering an immersive 3D visual experience.
