Mercedes-Benz has previewed the new Mercedes-Maybach GLS flagship SUV, which will make its debut later this year and is expected to be officially unveiled by late summer. The automaker has released an initial glimpse of the vehicle’s front-end lighting design: the illuminated grille surround echoes the star motif within the headlights, while slim LED daytime running lights sit above the headlamps. Below the illuminated Mercedes star emblem, a glowing Maybach badge adorns the lower front fascia, complemented by welcome projection lights on the ground. The new model will carry over numerous upgrades from the standard GLS, featuring the MBUX Superscreen system—a cockpit setup comprising three integrated displays—and powered by Mercedes-Benz’s latest infotainment software. Under the hood, it is expected to be equipped with a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine featuring a flat-plane crankshaft, delivering a maximum output of 390 kW (523 hp) and peak torque of 750 N·m.
