XPeng’s compact new energy SUV, the MONA L03, officially launched recently with a starting price of RMB 123,800, offering both extended-range and all-electric powertrain options. Within just 7 minutes of its launch, the vehicle garnered over 20,000 firm orders, reaching a cumulative total of 46,859 firm orders within one hour. In the first 72 hours post-launch, each dealership averaged 60–70 locked-in orders, while new in-store customer visits doubled (up 100% YoY), with 85% being first-time customers. The launch price was approximately RMB 8,000 lower than user expectations, fueling a rapid surge in orders on launch night, with coastal regions and Tier-1/2 cities accounting for a significant share of orders. Display units arrived at dealerships on the 6th, with test-drive vehicles rolling out to stores mid-month. The launch attracted a large influx of first-time visitors, significantly boosting weekend test-drive volumes. Customer profiling reveals that unmarried women aged 22–32 constitute the primary buyer segment, representing 65% of purchasers. Most purchases are for daily commuting, typically as a first or additional vehicle. This demographic widely appreciates the vehicle’s exterior design and often brings family members along for in-store experiences. Notably, the pre-launch marketing cycle was significantly shortened this time, yet dealers reported markedly improved customer conversion rates. Brand ambassador Ou Yang Nana demonstrated strong resonance with female users. In terms of configuration preferences, all-electric models accounted for 80% of sales versus 20% for extended-range variants. Among trims, the RMB 134,800 525Max version represented 30% of sales, the RMB 144,800 625Max accounted for 25%, and the RMB 156,800 625Ultra SE made up 20%. For exterior colors, Aurora Purple and Crescent Silver emerged as top sellers, while Deep Space Grey dominated interior choices. After experiencing the vehicle in person, most customers felt the L03’s build quality rivaled that of vehicles priced around RMB 200,000. Both Aurora Purple display and test-drive units received high praise, contributing to strong test-drive-to-order conversion rates. Customers overwhelmingly opted for all-electric variants, citing the Max trim’s VLA advanced driver-assistance system as fully meeting their needs—virtually no buyers selected the Plus trim.
