Recent social media images show that a vehicle equipped with Huawei's Qiankun Intelligent Driving System now supports the "gesture-based parking exit" feature, likely belonging to the Harmony Intelligent Mobility Enjoy S9 series. This indicates that certain models upgraded to HUAWEI ADS 5 will gain gesture-controlled driving capabilities. At the Huawei Qiankun Media Day held on July 16, 2026, Yu Zhi Jin, CEO of Huawei’s Intelligent Automotive Solution BU, unveiled the OTA rollout and commercialization roadmap for Qiankun ADS 5. In July 2026, the ADS V5.0 version will be released, introducing new features such as rear-end active collision avoidance assistance, AR-HUD safety alerts for rain and fog, anytime-anywhere NCA (Navigate on City Streets), RCA (Roaming Cruise Assist), plug-and-charge parking-space-level charging navigation, and position-holding parking. Between September and October 2026, the ADS V5.X version will add functionalities including integrated active-passive safety, prevention of unintended steering inputs, meeting-vehicle reversing recovery, and pothole avoidance. From January to February 2027, ADS V5.X will further roll out Driver Incapacitation Assist 2.0 and Emergency Escape features. Huawei officially stated that existing vehicles equipped with Qiankun ADS 4 Max/Pro/SE can be upgraded to the corresponding ADS 5 versions without requiring any additional hardware modifications.
