Malaysia's First Chery iCAR V23 Rolls Off Production Line, Arrives in Showrooms by End of July

Malaysia’s first Chery iCAR V23 officially rolled off the production line on July 22 and is expected to arrive at dealerships by the end of July. Chery’s smart factory in Malaysia broke ground in February 2025, covering 200 acres (approximately 81 hectares), with an initial annual production capacity of 100,000 units and potential for expansion up to 300,000 units. The remaining land at the facility will accommodate component suppliers, as well as training and R&D centers. In the Chinese market, the iCAR V23 is available in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive variants, delivering maximum outputs of 185 kW and 335 kW respectively, a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 4.5 seconds, and CLTC-rated ranges of 401 km, 501 km, and 550 km. Prices range from RMB 122,800 to RMB 154,800. Additionally, several other Chinese-branded models—including the XPeng G6, Leapmotor C10 and B10, and Wuling Bingo—have also commenced localized production in Malaysia.
