At the 2026 China Automotive Forum, Wang Kai, Founder and CEO of SiEngine Technology, stated that domestically produced automotive-grade chips have entered a critical phase—shifting from low-end substitution to direct benchmarking against international products. To date, SiEngine’s automotive-grade chips have been validated in over one million vehicles, demonstrating performance on par with leading global standards. The company has also built an ecosystem spanning passenger vehicles, Tier 1 suppliers, robotics, and drones. SiEngine has established a comprehensive chip portfolio covering smart cockpits, autonomous driving, and AI acceleration. Its smart cockpit chips range from entry-level to flagship offerings, while its autonomous driving chips support urban NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) and advanced intelligent driving functions, with successful industrial scenario adaptations already completed alongside leading domestic robotics companies. Wang highlighted the company’s Dragon Hawk II automotive-grade chip, manufactured on a 5-nanometer process. This chip not only powers high-end smart cockpits but also enables cockpit-driving integration, offering automakers a complete solution from entry-level to premium segments. Additionally, SiEngine launched the Ark Computing Platform, which integrates operating systems, middleware, algorithms, and supply chain resources to help automakers and edge-AI enterprises rapidly deploy technological solutions. Internationally, SiEngine’s chips are already integrated into mainstream models from multiple global automakers, with sales reaching markets including Brazil, India, and Europe. Wang emphasized that Chinese-made chips must not only support Chinese automakers’ global expansion but also gain recognition from international carmakers to enhance the competitiveness of China’s automotive industry in the global market.
