Xpeng Motors co-founder and CEO He Xiaopeng stated that the company is prepared to enter the U.S. market once political conditions permit, emphasizing that the United States is one of the most critical markets it must enter. He acknowledged understanding the current U.S. policies restricting imports of Chinese-made vehicles but added that if future policy allows Xpeng to establish local manufacturing or operations, the company would respond proactively. Meanwhile, Xpeng is also evaluating entry into the Canadian market. Tang Zhikun, Head of International Development and Service Center, revealed that over the past six months, the company has maintained communication with Canadian government officials and local partners and is currently formulating a long-term strategy to establish its brand presence in the country. In Europe, Xpeng has partnered with Magna, which assembles the G9 and G6 models at its Austrian plant. The company plans to establish multiple vehicle production bases across Europe, prioritizing the use of existing industrial sites and facilities to accelerate deployment and reduce costs. Potential locations are primarily concentrated in Germany, especially in the southern region. He Xiaopeng noted that as long as local regulations are met, Xpeng is open to various production models—including knock-down assembly or achieving high levels of localization—and prefers collaborating with European automakers by sharing existing production infrastructure. Additionally, Xpeng is currently in negotiations with Volkswagen regarding potential cooperation, which will be officially announced upon completion.
