XPeng is actively advancing its expansion into the U.S., Canadian, and European markets. He Xiaopeng, co-founder and CEO of XPeng, stated that the U.S. is one of the key markets the company must enter. Once local political conditions permit and relevant policies are relaxed, XPeng will consider establishing a local manufacturing plant or expanding its business operations there. He also expressed understanding of the current U.S. restrictions on Chinese automobile imports. In Canada, XPeng has maintained communication with local government officials and potential partners over the past six months and is currently evaluating the feasibility of entering the market while formulating a long-term strategy to establish its brand presence. In Europe, XPeng has partnered with Magna, which will assemble the G9 and G6 models at its Austrian facility. The company also plans to establish multiple vehicle production bases across Europe, prioritizing the use of existing industrial sites and facilities to accelerate progress and control costs. Potential locations are primarily concentrated in southern Germany. He Xiaopeng noted that as long as local regulations are met, XPeng is open to various production models—including knock-down assembly and increasing localization rates—and prefers sharing existing production facilities with European automakers. Additionally, XPeng is currently in negotiations with Volkswagen regarding potential collaboration, and further details will be officially announced upon conclusion of the talks.
