Horse Powertrain announced the successful first firing of its HORSE W30 prototype—a full-domain V6 high-performance engine developed for the high-performance hybrid market—in Ningbo, China. Featuring a 90° V-angle twin-turbo layout, the engine supports multiple powertrain configurations, including HEV, PHEV, REEV, and conventional internal combustion. It delivers a maximum output of 350–400 kW, peak torque of 600–700 N·m, and specific power exceeding 110 kW per liter. This milestone marks the completion of the engine’s development phase, with the project now advancing into performance optimization and vehicle integration tuning as it moves toward mass production. Horse Powertrain was formed through the merger of Geely’s Aurora Bay Technologies and Renault’s Horse Powertrain. The company is headquartered in London, UK, and operates 18 manufacturing facilities and five major R&D centers globally. Its equity structure comprises 45% ownership by Geely, 45% by Renault, and 10% by Saudi Aramco. Key customers include Renault, Geely, Volvo, Proton, and Nissan.
