In the first half of 2026, Leapmotor delivered a total of 356,487 vehicles, up 60.8% year-over-year, becoming the only Chinese EV startup to surpass 300,000 units in sales—leading Li Auto, its closest rival, by over 160,000 units. Leapmotor has consistently ranked first among EV startups in monthly deliveries for multiple consecutive months, driven by strong sales of its C- and B-series models as well as steady contributions from overseas exports. In an interview, Zhu Jiangming, founder, chairman, and CEO of Leapmotor, shared that after achieving financial independence at age 48, he chose to enter the automotive industry. Although he admitted to moments of regret, he emphasized there was no turning back, likening the car-making journey to riding a roller coaster—one must persevere to the end. He added that he could only consider “getting off” once Leapmotor secures a leading position in the global market.
