Xiaomi Auto recently announced that the maintenance interval for its Pengcheng series range extender is set at three years or 30,000 kilometers. This standard applies exclusively to the range extender and does not cover other vehicle components. To achieve this extended maintenance interval, Xiaomi collaborated with Shell to co-develop a full-synthetic engine oil meeting the API SP 0W-16 specification, formulated with high-purity, low-volatility base oils and a specialized antioxidant additive package to deliver excellent viscosity-temperature characteristics and long-lasting lubrication performance. The range extender also features an intelligent dynamic health monitoring system that continuously evaluates oil condition in real time based on driving habits and environmental factors, sending maintenance reminders to users via the in-car infotainment system or the Xiaomi Auto app. On the hardware side, Xiaomi partnered with Dongan Power to optimize the range extender, redesigning 57 components and specifically developing seven core parts to minimize operational wear. All Pengcheng models feature standardized range extender specifications, with identical maintenance intervals regardless of trim level. Other vehicle systems—including cabin air filters, brake fluid, chassis components, and the triple-electric (battery, motor, and power electronics) system—still require regular maintenance according to official guidelines.
