On July 23, Israeli autonomous driving technology company Mobileye announced that its founder, Amnon Shashua, plans to step down as Chief Executive Officer. The company’s board of directors has decided to engage an executive search firm and launch a comprehensive process to select a new CEO. Shashua will remain on the company’s board and is expected to assume the role of Chairman following his departure as CEO, focusing on long-term technology trends, innovation opportunities, and the development of humanoid robotics. Shashua stated that Mobileye has been his life’s work for nearly three decades and that now is the right time to establish the appropriate leadership structure for the company’s next phase of growth. He expressed continued enthusiasm for Mobileye’s future in advanced artificial intelligence, autonomous driving systems, and humanoid robotics, and pledged his support to the board and leadership team during the transition period. Intel currently holds approximately 77% of Mobileye’s shares.
