GAC Toyota Introduces Full Liability Coverage for Battery Fires on bZ7 and bZ3X Models

At the bZ7 User Conference, GAC Toyota announced a new industry-first policy offering full manufacturer liability coverage for battery fire incidents. The policy applies to both the bZ7 and bZ3X models and covers battery fires not caused by external flame spread—including those resulting from manufacturing defects, undercarriage scrapes, or collision-related accidents—all of which will be fully compensated directly by the manufacturer. This coverage is available to both new and existing owners, remains valid for the vehicle’s entire lifetime, and is not restricted by the vehicle’s age; even if the vehicle is over eight years old, all battery cells will be replaced free of charge in the event of a failure. Additionally, GAC Toyota unveiled an OTA update plan for the bZ7, which will introduce new features including Sentry Mode, Escort Mode, and a three-point turn function.
