Mercedes-AMG first confirmed in September 2025 that it would launch a G-Class convertible, releasing images of a camouflaged test prototype. In March 2026, the company officially confirmed the model’s name as the G63 Cabrio. Recently, the automaker unveiled a set of new photos showcasing the vehicle with its soft top retracted. The car features a folding soft-top roof that, when stowed, folds neatly beneath the spare tire mounted at the rear. Structurally, a fixed metal roof section remains above the front seats, while a substantial roll bar is positioned behind the second row. The third brake light has been integrated into the spare tire cover. Powering the G63 Cabrio is expected to be a 4.0-liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, producing a maximum output of 577 horsepower (430 kW / 585 PS) and peak torque of 627 lb-ft (849 N·m).
