The BYD Yangwang U8 Luxury Edition 2023 and Off-Road Player Edition 2024 have recently received an OTA update, introducing 13 new features and optimizing multiple user experiences. Key updates include: - A new "Dynamic Island"-style notification area added to the top status bar; - Optional toggle for navigation voice prompts during phone calls; - Automatic recording functionality added to the dashcam; - Three-level global font size adjustment; - One-touch control to turn off all exterior lights; - Auto-dimming function added to the side mirrors; - New "One-Touch Privacy" mode; - Seamless activation of parking assistance without manual input; - iQiyi’s playback interface now features the “Wonder” interactive function; - New automatic battery discharge function. Launched in September 2023, the Yangwang U8 Luxury Edition is priced at RMB 1,098,000. It features a 12.8-inch OLED center touchscreen, a 23.6-inch digital instrument cluster, a 23.6-inch front passenger entertainment screen, a 70-inch AR-HUD, a streaming rearview mirror, a 7-inch rear central armrest display, and two additional 12.8-inch floating multimedia screens for rear passengers. Powered by BYD’s proprietary "Yi Si Fang" (Easy Four) quad-motor independent drive system, the vehicle employs a plug-in hybrid powertrain combining a 2.0-liter engine with four electric motors. It is equipped with a 49.05 kWh battery pack, delivering a combined maximum output of 880 kW and peak torque of 1,280 N·m. The Luxury Edition accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in just 3.6 seconds, offers a CLTC pure-electric range of 180 km, and achieves a total CLTC combined range of 1,000 km.
