On July 26, spy photos of a Harmony Intelligent Mobility test vehicle were released. The vehicle features a large front grille; although partially camouflaged, certain design details are already discernible. Accompanying captions read, “We’ve got the Avatr series and the Luxeed series—could the Zhiji 9 Series be next?” and explicitly responded to online speculation by hinting it’s an SUV, suggesting this could be Zhiji’s flagship 9 Series SUV. To date, the Zhiji brand has launched its first coupe SUV—the Zhiji R7—co-developed by Huawei and Chery. The R7 adopts a OneBox design and boasts the largest interior space among its class of coupe SUVs in 2024. The newly revealed vehicle hasn’t received an official name yet, but following the naming convention of the Zhiji R7 and the rumored Zhiji RX, it is expected to be named Zhiji R9. However, its final designation could still shift to another series depending on its specific positioning.
