vivo Digital Car Key Now Supports GAC Toyota bZ7, Expands to Cross-Brand Vehicles

vivo's digital car key feature has now been adapted for GAC Toyota models, with the first supported vehicle being the bZ7, an all-electric sedan launched on March 29, 2024. The bZ7 is offered in five configurations across two range variants—600 km and 700 km—with a starting price of RMB 147,800. Models equipped with dual-chamber air suspension start at RMB 170,800, while the fully loaded version—featuring LiDAR-enabled advanced driver-assistance systems, dual-chamber air suspension, and Huawei’s HarmonyOS smart cockpit—is priced at RMB 179,800. The bZ7 is currently Toyota’s widest all-electric sedan and its first flagship EV to feature dual-chamber air suspension. It also brings down to this segment several premium features previously reserved for larger sedans, including LiDAR-based intelligent driving systems and a HarmonyOS-powered smart cockpit. At its user conference on July 24, GAC Toyota announced a new battery protection policy specifically for the bZ7: apart from incidents caused by external fire sources spreading to the vehicle, any battery fires resulting from manufacturing defects, underbody scrapes, or collision damage from traffic accidents will be fully covered by the manufacturer with direct compensation. This marks the first time that battery fires caused by non-quality-related issues have been included under the manufacturer’s full liability. Additionally, the bZ7 comes with a lifetime warranty on its entire electric powertrain system (battery, motor, and power electronics). According to the company, the vehicle underwent durability validation during development targeting a lifespan of over 20 years. Even after more than eight years of use, if the battery fails, all cells will be replaced free of charge, with no cost to the owner. With this integration, vivo’s digital car key now supports multiple automotive brands, including Buick, BYD, Changan, Geely, and GAC Toyota, continuously expanding its cross-brand compatibility.
