NIO ES9 Earns CQCC Certification for Quietness and Comfort in 500,000–1,000,000 RMB Segment

On July 28, China Automotive Technology & Research Center (CATARC) Automotive Engineering Research Institute (Tianjin) released the latest batch of evaluation results under the "Intelligent New Energy Vehicle Quietness and Comfort Evaluation Protocol (CQCC)." The NIO ES9 received certification as a "Quiet and Comfortable Vehicle in the RMB 500,000–1,000,000 Segment." Launched officially in Tianjin on May 26, 2024, the CQCC is China’s first comprehensive evaluation system focused on vehicle vibration and noise. It was developed under the guidance of the China Consumer Product Quality and Safety Promotion Association, led by CATARC, and jointly created with 10 universities and 29 leading automakers. The protocol aims to fill the gap in unified assessment standards for quietness and comfort in new energy vehicles. The CQCC framework covers three major dimensions—static, dynamic, and quality—and includes 11 sub-evaluation items and 38 typical driving scenarios. It translates users’ subjective driving and riding experiences into quantifiable metrics, assessing aspects such as sound insulation, road noise, wind noise, powertrain noise, thermal comfort across high and low temperatures, squeak and rattle, and operational sound quality. Unlike traditional evaluation methods that rely solely on decibel measurements, the CQCC introduces four additional dimensions: isolation, sound quality, linearity, and physicality. The NIO ES9 is a six-seater SUV positioned as a tech-oriented flagship executive SUV, priced between RMB 498,000 and RMB 628,000. It achieves systematic optimization of overall noise, vibration, and sound quality through a closed-loop technical approach comprising source control, path isolation, active noise cancellation, and fine-tuned sound quality enhancement.
