Mazda's Indonesia Vehicle Assembly Plant Officially Launches with Annual Capacity Exceeding 10,000 Units

Mazda’s new vehicle assembly plant in Citeureup, Bogor Regency, West Java, Indonesia, has officially commenced operations. The facility was developed by PT Eurokars Motor Indonesia, Mazda’s brand distributor in Indonesia, with a total investment of approximately IDR 40 trillion (around USD 25 million). Spanning 65,000 square meters, the plant was designed and constructed in accordance with Mazda’s global manufacturing standards. With an initial annual production capacity exceeding 10,000 units, the plant’s first model off the line is the Mazda CX-30. This standalone assembly facility operates independently and does not share its production line with other brands. It features dedicated production lines, a quality validation area, and a specialized test track. The production process begins with the receipt of completely knocked-down (CKD) kits. Components are then delivered to assembly stations in pre-sorted “kits” via a warehouse management system. The entire manufacturing process is centrally managed by a Manufacturing Execution System (MES), enabling end-to-end digital traceability and ensuring compliance with Mazda’s global manufacturing specifications. Upon completion of assembly, each vehicle undergoes multiple quality validation procedures, including body alignment, wheel alignment, dynamic testing on the dedicated test track to simulate various road conditions, as well as leak tests, underbody inspections, final checks, and product audits. All inspection results are consolidated in an audit room and evaluated against the “Mazda Customer Quality Index” to ensure every vehicle meets Mazda’s global quality standards before delivery to customers.
