The all-new MINI Countryman is currently undergoing testing in North America. Prototypes wrapped in camouflage livery are being subjected to rigorous extreme-condition evaluations on rocky inclines, gravel unpaved roads, and remote mountain trails in the Rocky Mountains. The testing focuses on overall vehicle durability, body rigidity, and off-road capability. MINI and BMW’s engineering teams are leveraging the region’s natural terrain to fine-tune the suspension and all-wheel-drive systems. Based on extensive real-world driving data, they are optimizing the AWD system and chassis architecture to enhance performance, handling stability, and long-term reliability under extreme road conditions. While retaining the practicality for urban commuting and comfort on paved roads, the new model significantly boosts its off-road prowess, broadening the usage scenarios for the Countryman lineup. Specific technical specifications and equipment details have not yet been disclosed. The automaker has confirmed that the global debut will take place in October 2026.
