Mercedes-Benz USA is recalling 310,667 vehicles in the United States due to a potential corrosion issue in the microswitch within the driver-side door latch. This defect may prevent the system from detecting that the door is not fully closed, thereby disabling the automatic activation of the electronic parking brake or "Active Parking Assist" function. The recall was announced by the U.S. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA) on July 30.
