Bentley's First All-Electric SUV, the Torcal, Spotted in Prototype Ahead of September 23 Launch

On July 30, a camouflaged prototype of Bentley’s first all-electric model, the Torcal, was spotted on Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills, California. The vehicle was parked behind a BMW i5 and ahead of an Audi sedan. Smaller than the Bentayga, the Torcal is positioned as a premium urban electric SUV. Bentley had teased on July 28 that the Torcal would feature a new “floating diamond grille,” maintaining the brand’s signature design language while establishing a distinctive visual identity. Inside, the cabin includes a three-spoke steering wheel, a curved full-digital instrument cluster, circular air vents, genuine metal trim, and extensive wood paneling on the passenger side. Wing-shaped stalks flank the steering wheel—on the right for gear selection and on the left for lights and wipers—echoing the layout seen in the Audi Q3. Built on the Premium Platform Electric (PPE) architecture shared with the upcoming electric Porsche Cayenne, the Torcal is equipped with a 113 kWh battery pack supporting 390 kW DC fast charging. It will be offered in three power outputs: 324 kW, 490 kW, and 849 kW, with the final production version expected to deliver between 490 kW and 849 kW. Bentley claims the vehicle can add 161 km (100 miles) of range in just seven minutes. The Torcal is scheduled for its official debut on September 23 and is set to launch in the U.S. market in the third quarter of 2027, with an estimated starting price of $200,000 to $250,000.
