Alibaba's Qwen large model has entered an advanced testing phase within Tesla China's in-vehicle infotainment system, having already undergone extensive on-car testing in real vehicle environments. The tested functionalities include voice interaction, vehicle control, navigation, and task handling, aiming to deliver comprehensive capabilities described as "listening and responding, controlling the car, navigating, and handling tasks." According to disclosures, once integrated into vehicles, Qwen will surpass the scope of traditional voice assistants by offering three core capabilities: sophisticated semantic understanding and multi-task path planning; seamless integration of a service loop covering "ordering—fulfillment—payment"; and support for full-scenario applications—including content, lifestyle services, and transactions—through an edge-cloud collaborative architecture. Additionally, multiple leading Chinese automakers have announced at the 2026 Beijing Auto Show their plans to integrate the Qwen model. As of now, neither Alibaba Cloud nor Tesla China has issued an official statement regarding this news. Separately, according to prior reports, Tesla China has already rolled out an update to its vehicle software (version 2026.14.13), introducing the "Doubao" large-model-powered intelligent voice assistant, which supports real-time information queries, natural conversations, and a variety of personalized voice personas.
