Hesai Technology announced that its automotive-grade, ultra-long-range, ultra-high-resolution LiDAR—ETX—has secured a new定点 (定点 translates to "定点" in Chinese business context, but in English it's typically rendered as "定点 win" or "定点 award," however for fluency we can say "new vehicle program定点" or simply "new定点 from Great Wall Motor") from Great Wall Motor, with mass production and initial deliveries expected to commence by the end of 2026. Currently, Hesai’s LiDARs are already integrated across four Great Wall Motor brands: WEY, TANK, ORA, and HAVAL. The ETX supports multiple ultra-high-resolution configurations—including 1,080-line, 2,160-line, and 4,320-line options—with a maximum detection range of up to 600 meters. Under 10% reflectivity conditions, it achieves a detection range of 400 meters. Additionally, it can detect small objects such as traffic delineators (120×60 cm) at distances up to 300 meters, small animals (60×40 cm) up to 280 meters away, and wooden blocks (15×25 cm) at ranges up to 150 meters.
