BYD Tang Production Ramps Up from August, Targeting 15,000 Units Monthly

On August 1, Lu Tian, General Manager of BYD Dynasty Network Sales Division, stated that starting in August, production capacity for the BYD Tang will be gradually ramped up, with a target of reaching 15,000 units per month. He emphasized that vehicle manufacturing involves the entire production chain—including stamping, welding, painting, and final assembly—and that all processes are currently being accelerated to shorten customer waiting times and expedite delivery schedules. The BYD Tang was launched in Xi’an in mid-June 2026 as the first D-segment flagship SUV under the Dynasty Network. The EV variant features BYD’s second-generation Blade Battery and a full-domain 1,000V high-voltage architecture. The all-wheel-drive version achieves a 0–100 km/h acceleration time of 3.9 seconds and offers a maximum CLTC range of 950 kilometers, supporting peak charging power of up to 1,000 kW. Key features include the Yunniu-A dual-chamber air suspension, crab-walk mode, and rear-wheel steering. Drawing on BYD’s previous experience in ramping up production, the company increased its total vehicle output by nearly 200,000 units between August and October 2024, hiring close to 200,000 employees across vehicle assembly and component manufacturing roles, with all production bases operating at full capacity. A similar strategy is expected to be employed this time to accelerate Tang deliveries.
