Geely Galaxy Starlight 6 EF Supports Flexible Methanol-Gasoline Blending

From:Internet Info Agency 2026-08-01 15:03:09

The Geely Galaxy Starlight 6 EF is equipped with a next-generation methanol-electric hybrid technology that allows methanol and gasoline to be blended in any proportion within the same fuel tank. The vehicle features a methanol concentration sensor that detects minute electrical current changes as the fuel flows through it, enabling real-time analysis of the methanol-to-gasoline ratio in the blended fuel. This data is transmitted to the Engine Control Unit (ECU), which dynamically adjusts fuel injection and ignition strategies to ensure optimal vehicle performance. The system employs a 350-bar direct fuel injection setup to enhance fuel atomization, combined with a high-energy ignition system and precisely calibrated control strategies to overcome cold-start challenges in ultra-low temperatures. During bench testing, the powertrain accumulated runtime 3.6 times longer than that of conventional internal combustion engines and has successfully completed 2 million kilometers of nationwide road validation under diverse environmental conditions, driving scenarios, and methanol fuel sources.
