Xiaomi Auto recently released a technical update on its Pengcheng series vehicles. The series is equipped with low-speed crawling lights that automatically activate when driving at night at speeds below 10 km/h, illuminating both sides of the road to enhance safety during narrow-lane driving, parking maneuvers, and roadside stops. In terms of interior space and seating configuration, taking the N90 Max as an example, the vehicle features six extra-long sliding rails. The seat rails extend up to 1,938 mm in length, allowing the second and third rows to slide up to 900 mm each. These rails are made of 7-series reinforced aluminum alloy, offering 9% higher tensile strength than standard 7-series aluminum. They achieve a locking strength of 54,000 N and a maximum peel strength of 57,000 N, and have passed 15,000 sliding cycles without loosening under environmental conditions ranging from -20°C to 60°C. The front driver and passenger seats support 180° electric rotation, featuring dedicated rotation-locking mechanisms. After completing 5,500 durability cycles, the function remains fully operational—but only when the vehicle is in Park (P) mode. The center island includes a 1,260 mm sliding rail with a maximum travel distance of 615 mm, housing a 9L compressor refrigerator capable of holding ten 330 mL beverage cans, paired with a dual-cupholder table measuring 600 × 420 mm. Thanks to its boxy spatial layout and flat floor, the vehicle supports multiple usage scenarios: - In “Face-to-Face Lounge” mode, the front seats rotate, the center island centers itself, and the second row slides rearward to create a 1,760 mm face-to-face seating area. - “Personal Workspace” mode enables adjustable track-mounted tables combined with zero-gravity seats and privacy features. - In “Four-Person First Class” mode, legroom in the second row reaches 1,370 mm and can expand up to 1,550 mm. - In “Maximized Cargo” mode, the trunk capacity expands to 1,831 liters—enough to accommodate two 700C road bikes with wheels intact. Regarding driving dynamics, the N90 Max offers a forward field of view of 24.2°, an A-pillar blind angle of 3.3°, and a turning radius of 5.95 meters. Its suspension and steering systems have been specifically tuned to balance agility and comfort for a large vehicle. Additionally, Xiaomi’s Longjia battery underwent thermal runaway testing under extreme conditions: at 55°C ambient temperature and fully charged state. When a single cell experienced thermal runaway, the entire battery pack showed no signs of thermal propagation, fire, or explosion. These test conditions are significantly more stringent than China’s new national standard (22±5°C ambient temperature, state of charge ≥95%), demonstrating superior thermal safety performance compared to regulatory requirements.
