FAW-Volkswagen Offers Lifetime Warranty Across All Models, Including ICE and PHEV

On August 1, FAW-Volkswagen’s Volkswagen brand launched a “Dual Lifetime Warranty” policy for all-new vehicle buyers, covering its entire lineup of internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles and plug-in hybrid electric vehicles (PHEVs). The policy includes both a “Lifetime Vehicle Warranty” and a “Lifetime Original Parts Warranty,” marking the industry’s first lifetime warranty program that comprehensively covers all models across their entire ownership lifecycle—encompassing both the complete vehicle and original equipment parts. The vehicle warranty covers core components such as the body, chassis, and electrical systems, while the original parts warranty includes critical components like the engine, transmission, alternator, and air conditioning compressor. When original parts are replaced at authorized dealerships, customers are entitled to nationwide, unlimited-time and unlimited-mileage free repair services, provided the damage is not caused by human error. To qualify for these benefits, three conditions must be met: the vehicle must be registered for the first time and used exclusively for non-commercial purposes; the owner must be the first registered owner; and the vehicle must undergo scheduled maintenance strictly in accordance with the owner’s manual at authorized dealerships, using only original parts for any repairs or replacements. This policy breaks through the traditional warranty limitations of “three years or a certain number of kilometers,” offering lifetime coverage from the moment of purchase across the brand’s full product portfolio—including sedans, SUVs, and both ICE and PHEV models.
