Sales of EV Chargers Without CCC Certification Banned from August 1

Starting August 1, electric vehicle (EV) power supply equipment has been included under the scope of China Compulsory Certification (CCC certification). Such equipment without CCC certification may not be manufactured, sold, imported, or used for any other commercial activities. This measure applies to charging equipment newly produced or procured after August 1. Existing charging piles do not need to be mandatorily removed, but operators must ensure they meet basic safety standards and perform regular inspections and maintenance. When expanding or replacing equipment at charging stations in the future, only products with valid CCC certification may be used. Market regulation authorities will strengthen oversight of CCC certification for EV power supply equipment and rigorously investigate illegal activities such as manufacturing or selling uncertified products or misusing certification marks. Consumers purchasing home charging stations or portable EV chargers should verify that the product itself bears the CCC certification mark. Most residential property management offices require submission of a valid certification certificate when approving private charger installations; installations of uncertified equipment cannot be registered or completed.
