SAIC-GM-Wuling reported global sales of 120,050 vehicles in July, of which 72,695 were new energy vehicles (NEVs), accounting for over 60%. From January to July this year, the company’s cumulative global sales reached 795,254 units, with NEV sales totaling 400,512 units. In the first half of the year alone, global sales stood at 675,204 units, including 327,000 NEVs—nearly half of total sales. July’s sales growth was driven by strong domestic demand for affordable passenger cars and commercial cargo vans, as well as robust overseas orders. In the domestic market, the Wuling Hongguang MINIEV and Binguo series continued to enjoy high popularity. Following its launch, the Binguo Pro has achieved steady deliveries, while orders for the new six-seater family SUV, the Wuling HuaJing S, are steadily rising. Red-label Wuling passenger and cargo models remain the top choice among self-employed individuals and small business owners. Overseas, Wuling’s cumulative exports have surpassed 200,000 units, with monthly exports exceeding 30,000 units for four consecutive months. The company employs a diversified international strategy, including direct vehicle exports, knock-down kit assembly, and local manufacturing. Vehicle configurations are tailored to regional road conditions and climates—for example, models destined for the Middle East feature enhanced air conditioning and dust-proof structures, while Southeast Asia focuses on low-cost compact EVs. Multiple models, rebadged for local markets, are now sold simultaneously in more than ten countries, meeting the daily mobility needs of families in developing nations thanks to their affordability and low maintenance costs. Commercial vehicle exports also remain stable, with microvans and light-duty passenger vans well-suited to local small-scale logistics scenarios and consistently ranking among the leaders in their segments.
