At the company’s strategic briefing on August 2, Lin Zhibin, Deputy General Manager of GAC Honda Automobile Co., Ltd., announced that the company will launch five new models over the next two years, including a completely updated hybrid model and two localized new-energy vehicles co-developed based on integrated resources from its shareholders. The company’s strategy will shift from importing and adapting existing models to locally driven innovation, accelerating the vehicle development process. GAC Honda has already fully implemented a Product Director system, under which joint-venture teams now lead product definition and coordinate resources from both shareholders for collaborative development—marking a strategic transition from adapting global models to proactively shaping core customer requirements. In terms of intelligent technologies, new models launching next year will be equipped with an all-new advanced driver-assistance system and feature a comprehensively upgraded in-cabin interactive experience. Additionally, GAC and Honda officially signed a strategic renewal agreement for their GAC Honda joint venture project on July 20, extending their partnership until 2038 while maintaining their current equity structure unchanged.
