SAIC Motor Reports July Sales: Overall Volumes Edge Up, SAIC-Volkswagen Plummets 42.2% YoY

SAIC Motor Corporation Limited recently released its production and sales report for July 2024. In the month, the company produced 340,010 vehicles, an increase of 5.17% year-over-year (YoY), and sold 338,606 vehicles, up 0.32% YoY. Among these figures, new energy vehicle (NEV) production reached 186,936 units, surging 86.07% YoY, while NEV sales totaled 176,673 units, up 50.67% YoY. Regarding exports and overseas operations, production amounted to 142,120 units, a 70.96% YoY increase, and sales reached 141,656 units, rising 72.55% YoY. Performance by subsidiaries was as follows: - SAIC Volkswagen: July production was 36,541 units, down 54.67% YoY; sales were 46,000 units, down 42.20% YoY. - SAIC General Motors: Production was 32,458 units, down 12.34% YoY; sales were 34,773 units, down 17.70% YoY. - SAIC Motor Passenger Vehicle Company: Production was 108,138 units, up 70.70% YoY; sales were 106,808 units, up 78.21% YoY. - SAIC-GM-Wuling: Production was 120,240 units, up 12.98% YoY; sales were 108,307 units, down 10.37% YoY. - MAXUS (SAIC Maxus): Production was 24,227 units, up 47.62% YoY; sales were 22,542 units, up 29.79% YoY. - IM Motors: Production was 3,699 units, down 44.60% YoY; sales were 5,900 units, up 1.57% YoY. - SAIC Zhengda: Production was 3,250 units, up 12.96% YoY; sales were 3,077 units, up 55.01% YoY. - SAIC-GM-Wuling Indonesia: Production was 1,811 units, up 0.11% YoY; sales were 1,688 units, up 2.18% YoY. - JSR MG Motor India: Production was 8,286 units, up 29.51% YoY; sales were 8,118 units, up 26.53% YoY.
