In July 2024, XPeng Motors commenced small-scale trial production of its humanoid robot IRON at its Guangzhou factory, with the mass-production line now entering the final integration and debugging phase. According to the previously announced timeline, the robot is scheduled to enter mass production by the end of 2026 and will first be deployed in XPeng’s offline stores in Q1 2027 to perform service roles such as guiding and sales assistance. Around the same time, XPeng announced a recall of its X9 vehicle model. Additionally, the head of XPeng’s robotics division has departed the company.
