SAIC Volkswagen has recently released a teaser image of the ID.ERA 5X, the first all-electric model in its ID.ERA series. Positioned as a mid-size SUV and powered exclusively by electricity, the vehicle is scheduled to launch within 2026. In terms of design, the ID.ERA 5X carries forward the ID.ERA family design language, featuring a full-width LED light bar, an illuminated logo, and “L”-shaped daytime running lights on the front fascia. A roof-mounted LiDAR sensor is integrated at the front of the roof, while the rear end sports full-width taillights, collectively emphasizing a tech-forward aesthetic blended with German design heritage. The side profile showcases a low-drag fastback silhouette, complemented by a rear spoiler mounted atop the rear window. On the intelligent technology front, the ID.ERA 5X will be equipped with the Xingyun intelligent driving assistance system, supporting both urban and highway NOA (Navigate on Autopilot) functions. Although specific powertrain and range details have not yet been disclosed, the vehicle is expected to deliver a range exceeding 600 kilometers and support fast-charging capabilities.
