On August 4, Peng Lei, Product Director of Huawei Smart Selection Vehicles (Shanxi Series), revealed that the Shanxi G9 will be the first model to feature Huawei’s Harmony Intelligent Driving Full-Terrain Tuling platform. During testing near the Genhe Reindeer Tribe, the vehicle traversed several kilometers of undulating frozen tundra with jump ramps at speeds exceeding 80 km/h without any wheel slip or noticeable body shake. On a roughly 20-kilometer bumpy grassland stretch en route to Hulun Lake, the G9 demonstrated excellent road disturbance filtering, significantly enhancing ride comfort and maintaining stable performance even on partially slippery surfaces. The Shanxi G9 is Harmony Intelligent Driving’s first tech-luxury, rugged SUV. All variants are equipped with Huawei’s self-developed electric motors, all-wheel-drive system, and an 800V high-voltage range-extending system, delivering a CLTC combined range of over 1,300 kilometers. Standard across all trims are Huawei’s 896-line LiDAR and three solid-state LiDAR units, enabling full-scenario assisted driving capabilities. The vehicle measures 5,206 mm (5,377 mm with spare tire) in length, 2,050 mm in width, and 1,897 mm in height, with a wheelbase of 3,160 mm. Inside, it features three dedicated physical control zones—Chassis Dynamics, Cabin Driving Experience, and Outdoor Enjoyment—and runs Harmony Intelligent Driving’s proprietary infotainment system. The panoramic sunroof can be opened instantly via a physical button.
