On August 4, 2026, a Zhijie R7 was involved in an accident while traveling on the S20 Outer Ring Expressway in Shanghai. On the same day, Harmony Intelligent Mobility issued a statement saying that on-site personnel quickly extinguished the fire, and no injuries or fatalities occurred. On-site verification confirmed that the accident was caused by a large, sharp metallic foreign object falling from a vehicle ahead, which struck the undercarriage of the Zhijie R7, resulting in severe physical impact and ignition due to friction. Preliminary investigations indicated that the vehicle’s triple electric systems (battery, motor, and electronic control) were functioning normally prior to the incident, with no other abnormalities detected, confirming that the accident was not caused by any fault of the vehicle itself.
