On August 4, Peng Lei, Product Director of Huawei Smart Selection Vehicles, showcased the L3 autonomous driving function button for the Harmony Intelligent Mobility (HIMA) Enjoy G9 vehicle, which illuminates with blue light. The Enjoy G9 has been granted Beijing’s L3-level autonomous driving road testing license, becoming the first model authorized for L3 road testing in Beijing at speeds up to 120 km/h. The vehicle employs a multi-sensor fusion solution combining LiDAR, vision, and millimeter-wave radar, and is equipped with an automotive-grade 896-line LiDAR. It has completed simulation tests and closed-course evaluations, and has passed four critical safety validations: functional safety, safety of the intended functionality (SOTIF), cybersecurity, and data security, meeting regulatory requirements for full lifecycle test data oversight. China’s first mandatory national standard specifically targeting L3 and L4 autonomous driving systems—“Intelligent and Connected Vehicles – Safety Requirements for Automated Driving Systems” (GB 44721–2026)—is scheduled to take effect on July 1, 2027.
