On August 5, a set of road-testing images of the prototype for BMW's first all-electric M3 was released. Built on the Neue Klasse platform, the vehicle is positioned as a compact luxury sedan. Externally, it features large hood air intakes and styling closely resembling the BMW M Concept Neue Klasse concept car. The front fascia continues the Neue Klasse design language with its minimalist aesthetic, retaining a low-slung hood, broad shoulder lines, and a compact cabin silhouette. The side profile reveals widened fenders, large-diameter wheels, lightweight dual-spoke rims, and substantial brake hardware visible behind the wheels. Reportedly, the all-electric M3 sedan carries the internal codename ZA0, while the Touring (wagon) variant is designated ZA1. The vehicle is expected to come standard with 20-inch wheels, possibly offering forged wheel options, and rumors suggest it may feature staggered wheel sizing—20 inches at the front and 21 inches at the rear. In terms of performance, the car is said to be equipped with four electric drive units, delivering an estimated 480 kW at the front axle and 560 kW at the rear axle, for a combined output capped at under 1,000 horsepower.
