AITO M8 Surpasses 180,000 Deliveries, Set for Major HarmonyOS Cockpit Upgrade

On August 6, Harmony Intelligent Mobility officially announced that cumulative deliveries of the Aito M8 have surpassed 180,000 units. Over the past year and a half, the vehicle has received nine OTA updates—comprising five major versions and four minor versions—introducing more than 80 new features and over 60 experience enhancements. These include microphone-free karaoke, convoy travel, multiplayer in-car gaming, driver incapacitation assistance, and new capabilities from Huawei’s Qiankun ADS intelligent driving system (including the WEWA architecture, NCA support for toll booths, and three-point U-turn functionality). The Aito M8 product manager revealed that the model is set to receive a major new upgrade to Huawei’s Harmony Cockpit. According to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology’s (MIIT) 409th batch of the “Announcement on Road Motor Vehicle Manufacturers and Products,” the new Aito M8 has completed its registration, with three variants listed: an extended-range version with LFP (lithium iron phosphate) battery, an extended-range version with NMC (nickel manganese cobalt) battery, and a pure electric version. All three models share identical dimensions of 5,190 mm (length) × 1,999 mm (width) × 1,795 mm (height), with a wheelbase of 3,105 mm. Both 5-seat and 6-seat configurations are available, and all variants have a top speed of 200 km/h. The WLTC fuel consumption figures for the extended-range models are 0.18 L/100 km and 0.22 L/100 km, respectively. The pure electric version has a curb weight of either 2,745 kg or 2,820 kg, with a gross vehicle weight of 3,270 kg. It features dual motors—one on each axle—with the front motor rated at 62 kW (peak: 160 kW) and the rear motor rated at 73 kW (peak: 227 kW). All three variants support external charging and offer optional equipment including different wheel designs, side running boards, and ETC onboard units. They are also equipped with an Event Data Recorder (EDR), and their ABS control modules are supplied by Bosch Automotive Products (Suzhou) Co., Ltd.
